Heath Elementary PTSO
Oct. 6, 2009 Monthly Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the HES PTSO was called to order by Leighann Warford, PTSO Vice President at 6:00pm with teachers/parents present. She noted that she would be conducting the meeting since Jennifer Howle was unable to attend. She welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. A motion was made to dismiss with the reading of the minutes due to several items on the agenda.
A motion was made by Donna Record and seconded by Lisa Ray. Motion passed.Treasurer’s report was given by Shantona Doublin. (Treasurer’s Report attached) A motion to accept the report was made by Jan Hylko and seconded by Heather Tabor. Motion passed. Our Great American Fundraiser brought in $10,898.48 plus $174.00 from on-line sales totaling $11,072.95. Our profit should be around $5500.Our Fall Festival will be Oct. 30th from 5-7pm. Games will end at 7:00 and Auction will begin at that time. Raffle tickets are going home Thursday. Letters to all parents with room baskets and game information will go home Thursday. Armbands letters will go home on Wednesday. The price is still $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Parent Volunteer Night will Oct. 27th at 6pm. All help will be welcomed. We have added 5 new games this year: Plinko, Spin-a-prize, Air Brushed Tattoos, Pirate Dress Up Room, and Face Painting.
Donation Committee is working hard!!! The members include: Kristi Johnson, Lisa Ray, Kathy Hookham, Kristy Bingham, Dionne Shelby, and Tammy Hatton. Thanks so much for all your hard work. We will be auctioning some baskets and silent auctioning some.Fall Festival Games were drawn by room mothers. (See Attachment)
PTSO would like to help out with grade level field trips this year. Kindergarten is taking a field trip to Wurth Farms and we wish to fund $250 for the trip. A motion was made by Heather Tabor and seconded by Donna Record. Motion passed
.PTSO along with Maxi Kolb (guidance counselor) will be rewarding students with Perfect Attendance on Monday, Oct. 18th.
Fall Parties will be Oct. 23rd from 2:45-3:15. We are suggesting that room mothers ask for either monetary donations or call upon guardians to send items such as drinks or snacks. Room moms will need to send home notes notifying parents of the fall party.
The next PTSO monthly meeting will be Nov. 10th. Door Prizes went to Kristi Johnson, Talisha Jones, and Jacqueline Croft .Meeting Dismissed.
